Elisete - Give love a chance

Give love a chance - The eighth album

About the album

Elisete - Give love a chanceGive love a chance - the eighth album was released in 2021
Give love a chance - That is all Elisete asks for: Give love a chance. So basic, so important, so easy. The love that Elisete offers, in fact, urges us to give and receive is a universal, selfless love. A love that contains within it all the other types - love for ourselves first and foremost, love for others, acceptance of the other, love for nature, animals and plants and especially for life wherever they are.

Elisete sees herself first as a human being, as a citizen of the world. She is an ambassador of love for others and nature because we are all one great soul. She believes that the values derived from love should be our guiding light so that we can progress to a happier and more positive world and she sings these values from the bottom of her heart in the hope that we will hear.

The album was created during a challenging period of a global pandemic. The rainforests are burning, a plague is raging, people are suffering and dying, money is being used as a tool to strike and not as a tool to heal, people are acting out of ego and fear and thus guaranteeing themselves pain. The earth seems to repay us for the disgraceful treatment we give her.
Elisete devotes a lot of thought to the responsibility of us humans for the situation and the path to correction. The song - It is the time' was written as a tribute of encouragement in the difficult times we experienced and the whole album is a reflection on human nature in good times and difficult times and on the road to love and union. She invites us to see that universal love and the recognition that we are all one is the cure.

Like Elisete, the album is cosmopolitan and embraces a variety of languages and themes - love in all its colors, nature conservation with an emphasis on the Amazon, acceptance of others, tolerance, patience and lots of joy. The rhythms are poppy and sweeping with folk touches and the songs are written in Hebrew, Italian, English and Russian while the Portuguese makes guest appearances in parts of the songs.

Elisete wrote and composed all the songs except for one of the two bonus songs - 'A Good Thought' written by Arik Shahar and which she especially loved and created for him an exciting performance. Raz Burg arranged all the songs except two that were arranged by Ron Laor. The wonderful guitars in the songs belong to Arik Shahar and Ron Laor. The album has two bonus songs - Elisete's song for wearing the mask and Arik Shahar's 'A Good Thought' that Elisete sings. The music videos for the songs were created by the Italian director Robbie Laville, who has been accompanying Elisete for many years.

A lonely bird

A lonely bird

In the song A lonely bird Elisete takes us one step further into her inner world. She is sensitive, empathetic, optimistic and not afraid to find her true place alone.
She unites her sight with that of the animals to show us what we as a race are doing to nature and in fact to us - because we are part of nature. The message is touching and it is easy to identify both with the animals trapped in the smoky forest and also with the allegory of a sensitive person walking with his truth.
Elisete believes that caring for nature will help us care for each other. She is optimistic and hopes that we will join the mission and save ourselves and our planet.

Al di la

Al di la - 'Beyond' (in Italian), the song carries us to a flight of fantasy and hope. It's an optimistic song about finding a free world that will bring happiness. The sounds paint the picture in soft pastels and Elisete's caressing voice in the Italian language completes the picture. Elisete wrote and composed the song with the intention of giving the listeners the feeling that anything can happen and that we can create a better world. Elisete takes us one step further into her inner world. She is sensitive, empathetic, optimistic and not afraid to find her true place alone.

My Amazonas hope

My Amazonas hope

My Amazonas hope - Elisete is a sensitive and optimistic person and strives to take part in repairing our world. As a person, as a singer with a vocation and as a Brazilian she hurts the pain of the scorched and destroyed forests of the Amazon and she wants to shout their cry to bring awareness and stop the damage that man causes to nature and thus to himself. My Amazonas hope is both Elisete’s prayer and a cry for change. She sees the images of the smoky forests, of the dead animals and the Indians mourning the nature caught in the flames and her heart is going out to them. Elisete thinks it's time for an immediate change, the madness should stop. Greed and heartlessness should make way for empathy for nature and people and the planet in general. Only then, she believes, will change come for the better. Out of concern for nature we will find the concern and mutual responsibility for each other.
She unites her sight with that of the animals to show us what we as a race are doing to nature and in fact to us - because we are part of nature. The message is touching and it is easy to identify both with the animals trapped in the smoking forest and with the allegory for a sensitive person who walks with his truth.

Preserving happiness

Preserving Happiness

Preserving Happiness - Elisete thinks a lot about spirituality and the meaning of life and therefore it makes so much sense that the song 'Preserving Happiness' would have several incarnations. In its previous incarnation the song was a duet and that’s how it came out on the album 'Longing'. Elisete recently discovered that the best incarnation of the song is a duet with herself. The song that slowly matured grew and became really a part of Elisete. Time and convergence inward formed in Elisete strength and maturity. The song is not just about failed love, the song echoes the strength of one who is strong enough to show vulnerability because she is confident in herself. Elisete feels confident in herself as a person and as a creator and knows that she is enough for herself. The melody of 'Preserving Happiness' is calm and very Brazilian and the lyrics are very Israeli and today Elisete fully embraces this duality of Israeliness and her Brazilianity. The incarnations of the song helped her to accept the song and herself fully and this is also Elisete's message to anyone who still does not believe in his own full potential: you can reach anything you believe in.

Sometimes

Sometimes

Sometimes - another sweet-sour song with an optimistic ending about longing for people who have left us. Sometimes hard, sometimes easy but overall life is good and you have to live them to the fullest with all the abundance they bring - do not shy away from life because sometimes it hurts!

It is time

It is time

It is time - "I felt it was time to get together at home, that it's time to think positive, that it's time to invest in family and that it's time to sing about it all to give the world a good feeling that will help us be healthier and happier." The song It is time is Elisete’s gift to the people of Israel and the world to make us happy and give us all a sense of hope and optimism.

I am a Drag Queen

I am a Drag Queen

I am a Drag Queen - The song I am a Drag Queen Elisete wrote at a time that seems so far away now - just before the outbreak of the pandemic - but its message is now even more important than ever. Just as the pandemic will have a cure and a vaccine, so too will the pandemics of homophobia and racism have a cure and a vaccine found for. Elisete loves people for who they are and the song is a celebration of our life - it sends a strengthening message to the LGBTQ community but in fact appeals to everyone who belongs to the tribe of joy and acceptance, to everyone who believes in diversity and color and accepts every person as he is. Elisete hopes we will soon reach the understanding that we are all one soul.

Ani ota ota

Ani ota ota (I wear it) - In this song Elisete encourages people to wear the mask. The mask is important and sometimes a little disturbing and Elisete wants to encourage us to wear it. The rhythm is uplifting, the words are amusing and the intention is serious. We are all responsible and we all need to take care of ourselves and others. Wearing the mask is an act of compassion and wisdom, so please put it on.
